Seismologist Lucy Jones said on the social media platform BlueSky that the northwestern part of California is the most sensitive to earthquakes because it is here that the tectonic plates meet. Shortly after the earthquake, a tsunami warning was issued by the National Weather Service on the phones of people in Northern California. In this warning it was said that strong waves and sea current may be seen near your coast. You are in danger. Move away from the beach immediately. Go to a higher place or go to the interior areas. In Santa Cruz, south of San Francisco, authorities evacuated the main beach and police put up tape at various places, restricting the movement of people.
