Washington. US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondy for the post of Attorney General of America. Former MP Matt Gaetz announced his withdrawal from the nomination process for this post on Thursday, soon after which Trump nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi for this post. Trump said in a statement, “I am proud to nominate former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondy as the next Attorney General of the United States. Pam will focus the Justice Department on its true purpose: fighting crime and making America safe again. I've known Pam for many years – she's smart, tough, and a champion of America First. She will do a wonderful job as Attorney General!” He said Bondy worked as a prosecutor for nearly 20 years and during that time he “took a tough stance on criminals while making Florida a safer place for people.” Trump alleged that the Justice Department was used as a weapon against him and other members of the Republican Party. The newly elected President said, “No more of all this.” Bondy's appointment will require Senate approval once he is formally nominated, but the president-elect's aides immediately breathed a sigh of relief at the selection. As of Thursday evening, it was widely believed among those working for the President-elect that Bondi's confirmation process would be easier than Gaetz's because she had been Florida's attorney general and had been in charge of the Capitol. Pam Bondy made history in 2010 when she was elected the first female Attorney General of Florida.
